What is a Dental Hygienist?

A Dental Hygienist provides preventative care for both adults and children. A hygienist can perform professional dental cleaning (including removal of heavy staining and calculus / tartar), apply fluoride treatment, and provide advice on diet and oral hygiene instruction.

What is a Dental Therapist?

A Dental Therapist provides excellent dental care for pre-school, primary, and secondary school children. The aim is to make your child’s visit as pleasant as possible, and to create a positive attitude when visiting the dentist. Through education and motivation, the goal is to teach and encourage good oral hygiene techniques to maintain healthy gums and teeth, and to develop good oral hygiene habits that will last their lifetime. Click to see our Children Dental Services.
